“If you changed the story, the meaning might change too. The question is: do you even know the meaning behind Wanda’s story right now?”, K.E.V.I.N. posed, sending her mind wandering again.
“What about the meaning behind your story, Jen? Do you want to change your path? No more She-Hulk? What would change—friends, lover, family, job?”, K.E.V.I.N. fired off questions relentlessly.
“I…I don’t…this isn’t about me!”, She-Hulk stammered in denial, then pressed on. “I can’t let my friends get hurt. Wanda depends on me. Her kids depend on me. Wong depends on me. I can’t disappoint them”.
“Why, Jen? Why do you care? You could’ve said no to Wong back then. So why?”, K.E.V.I.N. pushed harder. “Because I…because I… I WANT MY LIFE TO MEAN SOMETHING!!!!”, She-Hulk roared.
Unaware, tears streamed down her cheeks as her body reverted to human Jennifer Walters. The lawyer, friend to Nikki Ramos and Mallory Brooke, cousin to Bruce Banner, then-lover of Matt Murdock…She-Hulk, the hero.
K.E.V.I.N. approached Jen, slumped on the floor. “Didn’t think this episode would get this dark and long”, Jen joked, wiping her tears. “No one says you’ll fail or succeed. It’s all about your effort, and that’s what counts”, K.E.V.I.N. said.
Jen let out a small laugh, surprised by K.E.V.I.N.’s wisdom. “Since when did you get so wise? Your pep talk’s pretty good”, she teased. “If only I could smile, Jen”, K.E.V.I.N. responded.
Then, K.E.V.I.N. dropped a cryptic message to Jen. “Remember, Jen! Every story has meaning. Even Praxis’ story”. Before Jen could dig deeper, she found herself back in the TVA library.
“Jen!”, America exclaimed, her eyes sparkling. “Jennifer”, Wong greeted warmly. “Tatianaaaaa!!!!”, wait, since when was Deadpool here? Deadpool, like She-Hulk, could break the fourth wall, “Yup, Tatiana is the actress playing Jen a.k.a. She-Hulk. A little info for the newbies”. Okay, thanks, Deadpool. Back to the story.
Turns out, Wong had found someone to help decipher the unmarked TVA document they discovered. Deadpool! “Just now I explained to Wong and little America about Anchor Being. So…” Deadpool said with enthusiasm.
“Wanda-838 is an Anchor Being. Killing Wanda means killing her world”, America cut in, finishing his thoughts. “Felt longer earlier. But yeah, that’s it”, Deadpool agreed with America.
