However, on September 20, other FDR leaders started to take a different path from Musso. They are ready to bury the hatchet with the Indonesian government. To convince the Indonesian government, Amir Sjarifuddin said that the constitution of FDR is the Republic of Indonesia; their flag is still red and white; their national anthem is still Indonesia Raya.Â
Sadly, the Indonesian government seems to ignore FDR's effort to end the conflict. On October 20, the government arrested 1,500 men from the last rebel military unit. Musso was shooted to death three days later when he was hiding in a small room, refusing to surrender. Amir Sjarifuddin and other FDR people happened to face the same fate on December 19—executed to death.
The conflict continued for 3 months, some of the FDR leaders and members— around 24.000 people—were executed to death by TNI.
