(a poem for granny)
Written by: Giasinta
Life would not be beautiful if its black and white.
But it would be much simpler.
No pretty colors. No smiles nor laughs.
No colorful rainbow decorate the canvas of our mother earth.
Plain black and white.
People would not be sad facing any loss.
There are no tears to shed when the wings of death take our loved ones away.
There are no mourning in graveyard, no agony in heart.
If only its black and white.
People will not get the feeling of blue if they don't see so many colors in the first place.
There will be no tears if there are no smiles.
There will be no pain if there are no beautiful memories.
The more people taste the color of happiness, the harder they let go.
The stronger the color, the weaker people actually be.
Peculiar how the world works.
Sometimes we are so happy with all the colors of life, we forget the fact that eternity is merely fairytale.
Beautiful colors fade away. Rainbow disappears.
And then the questions came to mind, was it all worth it?
Were the happiness worth the pain?
Were all the colors in the world worth the feeling of blue?
Would you trade your colorful little story with a black and white version?
I guess, every sane people in the world
would rather risk their hearts for a broken heart
than feeling nothing at all.
Embrace every color in the world.
Taste every happiness with the consequence of each sadnesses.
Because at the end of the day,
the color of blue can be as beautiful as a rainbow.
