Every August 17, people in Indonesia commemorate The Independence's Day to appreciate the struggles of The Heroes of Indonesia's Independence. It was a beautiful day that present as a sign of the peak of Indonesia's struggle. The independence currently felt by the Indonesian nation will not come now without any sacrifices, whether it was time, wealth, even life once. Pain and misery faced by the Heroes of Indonesia is a foundation sense of nationalism and patriotism that unite each other as a nation that stands for diversity.

Besides many stories that told about the heroes who stand against the invaders using pointed bamboo, Soekarno is one of the greatest heroes of Indonesia. He was known as the recipient of the national hero title and the hero of the dwi-tunggal. Actually, he was not only a hero but a great inspiration too. He is the great orator who was ever born in Indonesia. Many people were influenced by him until now, but not all people in the world know him. That is why I write this article to slightly elaborate more anything that did by Soekarno during his life. All these things are the reason why Soekarno was known as a hero until now.

Born in Blitar, East Java, on June 6, 1901. Soekarno was born with the name Kusno Sosrodihardjo, but he was renamed Soekarno because he often got ill. His father named Raden Soekemi Sosrodihardjo, a teacher from Surabaya, East Java. His mother was Ida Ayu Nyoman Rai comes from Buleleng, Bali

Something unique from Soekarno, when he was a child there was a story about his birth. Soekarno was birth in the morning, and there was a myth about his birth. It is said that the child who was born in the morning will be predicted to be a big figure in his time. It also makes Soekarno known as a child of the sun among of the people, and the story is supported by Soekarno's polite attitude and great ability to communicate with other people.

Growth as an accomplished man, Soekarno continues his education to HBS in Surabaya. At Surabaya, Soekarno met with the Sarekat Islam leaders, Tjokroaminoto that led the organization. Soekarno then joined the organization Jong Java (Java Youth). When he was still a dozen, Sukarno had been in the world of journalism. He published his first writings through the Sarekat Islam newspaper, Oetoesan Indies. At that time, he used the pen name of the puppet character: Bima.

In the paper Sukarno wrote about 500 articles and comments. His writings sharply pierced capitalism, imperialism, and colonialism. "... destroy the imminent capitalism that its imperialist servants have helped. With the power of Islam, Insya Allah, it is immediately implemented, " Soekarno wrote in one of his articles.

Finished HBS in 1920, Soekarno continued to Institute of Technology in Bandung (Bandung Institute of Technology) on Civil Department. In Bandung, Soekarno also interacts with Tjipto Mangunkusumo dan Dr. Douwes Dekker, who was then the leader of the National organization Indische Partij.

Graduated in 1925, he spent only 3 years to finish his study. In 1926, Soekarno founded Algemene Study Club in Bandung. This organization became the asylum of the Indonesian National Party. In 1927, he became the leader of the Indonesian National Party and fought for the country's independence from the Netherlands. He was arrested in 1929 by Dutch Colonial Authorities because of his activity in Indonesian National Party to Pro-Independence Movement. When he was released, he became a popular hero.

In July 1932, Soekarno joined the Party of Indonesia (Partindo), which is still a fraction of the Indonesian National Party that already broken. Soekarno has arrested again in August 1933, and isolated to Flores. During the 1930's he was also arrested several times. In the year 1938 until the year 1942 Soekarno was exiled to Bengkulu. When Japan came to Indonesia, he was still active in movement party and was put in jail when Japan suspected him.

On November 10, 1943, Soekarno became the leader of BPUPKI that was supported by Japan. Finally, on August 17, 1945, Indonesia declared the Independence day, and he became the first President of Indonesia.

He passed away in 1970 and was buried in Blitar, East Java. Indonesian people were full of sadness. Although he had gone, his spirit is still alive and influences many people until now.
