Hi, I'm here just to keep my promise to explain to you about Isra Mi'raj and the story of Ibrahim (the reason why do we sacrifice goats, cows and camels every year). I don't like to break promises, so I'll tell you about it through this blog. If you don't find it or you find it but don't want to read it, I won't blame you. Because we agreed to stop talking since the last of August.

1. From what I learned since I was a kid, Isra' Mi'raj was an event during the year of sorrow, It was the 10th year of the Prophethood. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) lost his uncle Abu Thalib (His uncle helped the Prophet a lot when he was preaching) and his beloved wife Khadijah. At this time, pressure from the Quraish also became heavier, hindering the preaching of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Due to the sadness and hardship experienced by the Prophet Muhammad, Allah gave him a gift in the form of the Isra' Mi'raj event. Journey from the Grand Mosque in Mecca to the Aqsa Mosque in Palestine, then proceed to Sidratul Muntaha to meet Him directly.

So, Isra was the night journey of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) from Masjid al-Haram in Makkah to Masjid al-Aqsa in Jerusalem. At that time, the Prophet traveled by riding Buraq, a very fast animal.

Mikraj was the ascension of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) from Masjid al-Aqsa to Sidratul Muntaha, the seventh heaven. In this journey, Allah commanded the Prophet to perform five daily prayers. Isra and Mikraj happened on the night of 27 Rajab in the 10th year of Prophethood. On the way to Sidratul Muntaha, the Prophet met several prophets together with Angel Jibril.

In the first heaven, he met Prophet Adam (peace be upon him). They greeted each other with salam. In the second heaven, he met Prophet Yahya (John) and Prophet Isa (Jesus). In the third heaven, he met Prophet Yusuf (Joseph). In the fourth heaven, he met Prophet Idris (Enoch). In the fifth heaven, he met Prophet Harun (Aaron). In the sixth heaven, he met Prophet Musa (Moses), who cried because the followers of Prophet Muhammad would be the most who enter Paradise. In the seventh heaven, he met Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham).

Then, the Prophet reached al-Bayt al-Ma'mur, the House in heaven that is above the Ka'bah on earth. Every day, seventy thousand angels enter it to worship and never return. There, the Prophet was offered wine, milk, and honey. He chose milk, and Jibril explained that milk symbolizes purity and the natural state (fitrah).

After that, the Prophet met Allah. Allah first commanded fifty daily prayers. On his way back, Prophet Musa advised him that his people would not be able to do fifty prayers. So, Prophet Muhammad returned to Allah and asked for a reduction. This happened several times until finally, Allah made it five daily prayers. Prophet Musa still said that five was too many, but Prophet Muhammad answered, "I feel shy to return again. I accept and submit to Allah." At the end of the journey, Allah also showed the Prophet Paradise and Hell, the final place for human beings in the Hereafter.

2. Eid Al Adha

The story behind the Eid al-Adha sacrifice ritual begins with the story of Prophet Ibrahim AS and his son, Prophet Ismail AS. Prophet Ibrahim once prayed to Allah to be blessed with a righteous child, and Prophet Ismail was born. One day, Prophet Ibrahim had a dream which turned out to be a command from Allah to sacrifice his son.
