upon the mount, where shadows crept
where weary souls in vigil slept
a figure stood, in radiance bright
transcending realms of mortal sight
His visage, aglow with celestial grace
infinite wisdom upon His face
The Savior, The Shepherd, The Holy Light
in splendor bathed, in robes of white
with outstretched arms, he spoke with love
of realms beyond, of realms above
of trials endured, of sins forgiven
of hope eternal, in realms of heaven
His words, like music, filled the air
dispelling doubt, dispelling despair
in every heart, a flame did burn
for in his presence, souls did yearn
then, as the dawn began to break
His form ascended, no farewell to make
to realms unseen, beyond mortal ken
the risen Christ, to return again
yet in our hearts, His Spirit stays
guiding us through life's winding ways
in every prayer, in every plea
the ascended Christ, eternally free
