That night, May 2nd, 2018 will be one of my unforgettable moment in my life. The same day with "Hari Pendidikan Nasional" (National Education Day), I feel so enthusiast when my friend told me to attend The 100th anniversary of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic. Yeay, my friends and I have got the limited invitation from The Embassy of The Republic of Azerbaijan. The ceremony was held in Kempinski Hotel, Grand Indonesia, The Center of Jakarta at 7.00 pm (Jakarta time).
He told us about the short history of independence day of Azerbaijan, the bilateral relationship between Indonesia and Azerbaijan, the condition of the economy, cultural, and society of Azerbaijan now. Â Honestly, I never learn about the history of this country. So, I tried to look more information about that, here the results.
The 100th Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan (1918 -- 2018)
The Azerbaijan Republic was proclaimed their independence 100 years ago, when in Indonesia at that time still colonized by the Netherland. In Fact, Azerbaijan became the first democratic republic state in the Muslim-oriented world. I was surprised when I know that this country declared their independence day in three times, wow!
The first as the Democratic Republic on 28th of May 1918, the second as the Azerbaijan Socialist Republic on 28th April 1920 and the third as the modern Republic of Azerbaijan on 18th of October 1991.
Heydar Aliyev, I'm really curious about this people. This ceremony is also for celebrate his birthday (95th years). Heydar Aliyev was the third president who served 10 years (1993-2003). Heydar Aliyev is the national leader and founder of modern Azerbaijan.
Tar, Nagara, and Dance as Azerbaijan unique culture of arts
One of the best moment in here is when I hear the beautiful sound of Tar and Nagara. Both of them is original music instrument from Azerbaijan. Tar in here does not represent a kind of compound in cigarettes but in Azerbaijani, tar means "string" in Persian and also related to "guitar", "sitar" and "setar". Nagara is played a role as a lead of instruments and usually play in folk ceremonies or weddings.
The concert program performance by Mr. Shahriyar Imanov who play tar and Mr. Shukur Aliyev who play nagara. Not only hear many beautiful songs, we also dance together with all guest. We hold hand each other, follow the rhythm of the song, tried to make the other follow us too, like a relay in a big circle around the ballroom. Really fun and I love this!
