In this era of globalization, Islamic educational institutions face great challenges to be able to compete internationally. The demands for quality improvement, efficiency, and effectiveness in educational management have become increasingly important. Therefore, leadership management in Islamic education must possess global insight and a high level of professionalism in order to respond to various changes and needs of the times. Strengthening is needed in various managerial aspects, comprehensively, including staffing, student affairs, curriculum, finance, and infrastructure.
This essay aims to explain five main components in leadership management of globally-oriented Islamic education, namely staffing management, student affairs management, curriculum management, financial management, and facilities and infrastructure management, as efforts to improve the quality and competitiveness of Islamic educational institutions in the globalization era.
First: Staffing Management in Islamic Education; Staffing management is the art and science of procuring, developing, and utilizing human resources to achieve the educational institution's goals optimally. In the context of Islamic education, this management does not only regulate administrative aspects of staff but also encourages work enthusiasm through spiritual approaches and Islamic work ethics. Its scope includes planning for educational staff, recruitment processes, training, promotion, transfer, dismissal, evaluation, and fair compensation.
Second: Student Affairs Management in Islamic Education; Student affairs management aims to regulate all processes of students' presence, from admission to graduation. Its main function is to create a pleasant and educational learning environment so that students can achieve well-being and their life goals. In this management, student data collection, discipline development, and guidance services are essential components. Additionally, the integration of Islamic religious education curriculum is also needed so that students grow not only intellectually but also spiritually.
Third: Curriculum Management in Islamic Religious Education; Curriculum management is responsible for improving the quality of teaching and learning interactions through systematic management of all curriculum components. This includes setting educational goals, determining and organizing learning experiences, as well as evaluating learning outcomes. In Islamic education, the curriculum not only emphasizes academic aspects but also moral and religious values. With good management, the curriculum will serve as a strategic tool in shaping a faithful, intelligent, and globally competitive generation.
Fourth: Financial Management in Islamic Education; Financial management plays a vital role in ensuring the continuity and effectiveness of educational programs. The process includes budgeting, accounting, and auditing. The goal is to utilize financial resources efficiently, transparently, and accountably. In Islamic education, financial management must also be based on trust and honesty to provide maximum benefit to the entire academic community.
Leadership management in globally-oriented Islamic education demands comprehensive management in various aspects. The five main components---staffing, student affairs, curriculum, finance, and facilities---must be managed systematically, efficiently, and based on Islamic values. Thus, Islamic educational institutions can grow into excellent institutions, capable of facing the challenges of the times, and producing generations ready to contribute at both national and international levels.
