The Islamic community environment consists of a set of principles or values encompassing aspects of aqidah (creed), ibadah (worship), akhlaq (morals), and sharia (Islamic law), all rooted in the values of Islamic teachings that shape a truly Islamic society. From the perspective of Islamic education, the environment must support the achievement of its educational goals. If the environment is not synergistic with the objectives of education, then achieving the goals of Islamic education becomes very difficult. The community environment can exert either a positive or negative influence on a person's spiritual development and personality. Among the possible influences are morals and religious attitudes. Therefore, the community environment can serve as one of the centers of Islamic education. This paper aims to examine the complementary components of international Islamic education in order to improve the management of Islamic education in the global context.
First, Management of the Islamic Educational Environment:Managing the Islamic educational environment is a strategic effort to create a conducive learning atmosphere aligned with Islamic values, in order to develop learners with noble character. The community environment plays a crucial role as the third educational center after the family and school, with a primary function as a promoter of good and a preventer of evil. Strategies for optimizing this management include building a trustworthy institutional image, increasing public trust through achievements, promoting institutional excellence, involving the community in educational activities, and establishing close ties with community leaders.
Second, Management of Quality Services in Islamic Education:This aspect emphasizes the importance of excellent service focused on customer satisfaction, including students, educators, and other stakeholders. The concept of Total Quality Service is applied through a customer-oriented approach, involvement of all components, measurable systems, and continuous improvement. The quality of education includes inputs, processes, outputs, and outcomes, which are measured relatively based on stakeholders' needs. Achieving this quality requires a redefinition of tasks, professional leadership, a process- and result-oriented mindset, and cultural and organizational transformation towards effective and ethical educational governance.
Third, Change Management in Islamic Educational Institutions:Â Change management is a systematic process that allows Islamic educational institutions to adapt to changing times without compromising Islamic values. The goal is to ensure institutional sustainability, respond to internal and external changes, and enhance competitiveness. Various theories such as Force-Field, Motivation, and Contingency theories are used to understand and manage change, including overcoming resistance through communication and participation. Change must be planned through the stages of decision-making, preparation, launching, implementation, and sustaining, in order to produce educational improvements grounded in faith and true knowledge.
Fourth, Conflict Management and Communication Management in Islamic Education: Conflict management in Islamic education is a strategic effort to manage disputes so that institutional goals can still be achieved optimally. Conflicts can arise from differences in perception, values, personalities, misunderstandings, or competition for positions. Types of conflict include interpersonal, intergroup, and interorganizational conflicts. Educational managers play a vital role in identifying, assessing, and resolving conflicts. Meanwhile, communication management ensures effective message delivery through elements such as communicator, message, media, recipient, effect, feedback, disturbance, and environment, whether in face-to-face, interpersonal, or group contexts.
Conclusion: Management in Islamic education encompasses the management of environment, service quality, change, conflict, and communication---all aiming to create a quality educational system rooted in Islamic values. A conducive environment, excellent service, adaptability to change, conflict resolution, and effective communication are key to forming learners with noble character. With well-planned and collaborative strategies, Islamic educational institutions can grow sustainably, be responsive to the dynamics of the times, and remain firmly grounded in the principles of faith and true knowledge.
