The Charm of The Keuchik Leumik Mosque

In Banda Aceh, there are favorite mosques that are always crowded. One of them is the keuchik leumik mosque. The Keuchik Leumik Mosque is a new tourist spot in Banda Aceh City.

The mosque whose construction began in July 2016 was inaugurated on Monday, January 28, 2019 by the Governor of Aceh, Nova Iriansyah. This mosque is located on the edge of Krueng Aceh in Gampong Lamseupeung, Lueng Bata District, Banda Aceh.

The Haji Keuchik Leumik Mosque has an area of 3,500 meters with five domes and can accommodate around one thousand worshipers. Supporting facilities such as an adequate parking area, clean ablution area and a garden surrounded by palm trees in this mosque complex.

Luxurious impression is felt even more when we are inside the mosque. The entire building is wrapped in light brown with a combination of gold. On the inside of the mosque, golden yellow colors adorn the front wall.

A three meter diameter chandelier that hangs inside the dome adds to the luxury of this mosque. the relief form of this mosque which is a blend of Middle Eastern styles. In some parts, the architecture of this mosque resembles the Nabawi Mosque in Medina, Saudi Arabia.

Beside the mosque there is an Aceh house which is used as a place of recitation. under the house of Aceh can be used as a parking area. Being in this mosque not only makes the heart peaceful and calm, but amazes and makes us fascinated.

*How can get there?

Keuchik Leumik Mosque is very easy to visit, because it is not far from the city center. Just follow the river bank on the left side after the bridge to Simpang Surabaya from the direction of Jambo Tape. About 200 meters from the highway, we can see the mosque.
