The Kingdom of Lumeria once shone like a jewel under the sun, its rivers glittering with silver and its towers rising proudly. But one dreadful night, the sky turned black as smoke, and a chilling roar echoed from the mountains. The Shadow Beast had awakened. Villagers fled as darkness spread, swallowing fields and forests. King Rador locked the palace gates, ordering everyone to stay inside. Yet Princess Suripit, watching her people suffer, felt her heart break. She had read of the beast before---how it could only be defeated by light born from true compassion. When she told her father, he forbade her to act, fearing she would be consumed by the same darkness. But someone else heard her cries---a young blacksmith named Amdre, who decided that no kingdom could be saved by fear.
That night, Amdre slipped into the forest, armed only with a hammer and a lantern. There he found the princess already waiting, cloaked and determined. "You shouldn't be here," he whispered, but Suripit only smiled. "Neither should you, yet here we are." Together, they searched for the heart of the darkness. The forest grew colder, the shadows whispering lies and fears into their minds. When Amdre stumbled, Suripit took his hand, and the warmth of her touch made the shadows retreat. At last, they reached a cave where the Shadow Beast waited, its eyes burning like coals. It roared, shaking the earth, and the lantern shattered. Amdre stood in front of the princess, shielding her, but she stepped forward instead. "It is not darkness that ends darkness," she said softly. Then she closed her eyes, and light burst from her hands, pure and golden.
The Shadow Beast screamed as the light engulfed it, turning the darkness into shimmering dust. When silence fell, Amdre saw Suripit lying weak but alive. He carried her back to the palace, where the first dawn in months broke over Lumeria. The people rejoiced, and King Rador, tears in his eyes, thanked Amdre for his bravery. "It was her courage that saved us," Amdre said humbly. From that day on, Princess Suripit's light became the symbol of hope, and Amdre was named the kingdom's guardian. The blacksmith and the princess often walked together by the silver rivers, reminding everyone that courage and kindness, when joined, could conquer even the darkest of nights.
