5. Mass testing

Instead of carrying out a lockdown to suppress the spread of the corona virus, the Indonesian government plans to carry out a mass test of Covid-19 in the near future.  The English term for this mass test is mass testing or some are calling it rapid testing.  Example of sentences:
The Department of Health said mass testing of Filipinos for the Covid-19 is unnecessary for the meantime.

6. Panic buying

Panic buying is a condition when people feel panicked in facing the corona virus outbreak, so they buy masks, hand sanitizers, tissues, and food ingredients in droves.  Example of sentences:
Americans are panic buying because of the global coronavirus pandemic.

7. Symptom

If translated, symptom means symptom.  The term symptom often appears in English-language infographics that describe what the initial symptoms of people exposed to the coronavirus are.  Example of sentences:
The most common symptoms of coronavirus disease are fever, tiredness, and dry cough.

8. Contagion

Having the meaning of transmission, contagion is often used in articles about the corona virus to replace the term infection or transmission.  Example of sentences:
The number of confirmed cases in Indonesia has dramatically increased because it is just entering the first phase of the contagion.

9. Social distancing

Social distancing is a condition when there is a limit to socializing.  Since the outbreak of COVID-19, all public activities have been restricted.  For example, schools, workplaces, tourist attractions, and sports competitions had to be postponed.  No wonder there are even some countries that have imposed lockdowns to prevent the spread of COVID-19.  With social distancing, everything from shopping to ordering food is done through an online platform.
