On March 8, this is called International Women's Day. On this international women's day all women around the world celebrate it. Based on the Cosmopolitan FM page, the celebration of international women's day has appeared since 20 centuries ago. International Women's Day is celebrated to commemorate the success of women in the economic, political, social fields and also to honor the efforts of all women in the world who were or are struggling constantly to raise the rank of women and achieve gender equality or justice. However, in the past, this world women's day of celebration never disappeared, but because of the rise of feminism in the 1960s, finally in 1975 the commemoration of this world women's day was celebrated again.

Here I will discuss what are the differences from the things that women were not allowed to do in the past, but now we can do it. First, in Indonesia, in terms of education, it was only men who could feel the freedom to get education up to the highest level. But nowadays we already feel gender equality in education. Now we women have the same opportunities and rights as men in studying and getting better education and higher education.

Then the second, in terms of work. In the past, companies throughout the US until 1964, were free to reject all job applications submitted by women just because they were not men. But now women in the United States have the same rights as men to get employment in companies and government. There is no longer a gender difference that is considered by the company to accept its employees only from gender differences. This is very unfair, but it's good that it's over.

Third, driving a car. Saudi Arabia is the only country that prohibits women from driving. However, in recent years this ban has been lifted and now women in Saudi Arabia can drive their own cars without having to rent or be driven by someone else. Of course this is obtained because of the struggle of the women in these countries to get justice in this regard.

Furthermore, the fourth, this prohibition is quite unique in that women in France are prohibited from wearing pants. Quoted from the TEMPO.CO page, the regulation on the prohibition of wearing pants for women in France has actually been implemented for hundreds of years. This rule was made to restrict women's access to work in the public domain and also so that they do not dress like men. Even in the past, if a woman wanted to wear pants, she had to ask the police for permission. However, in 2010 this prohibition was finally officially abolished and now women in France have the right to wear pants like men.

Here are some things that women couldn't do in the past but are now able to do because we have earned our rights and also gender equality. With a lot of effort and also the participation of great women in the past and today, finally we can feel what we are living in today like getting the highest education possible so that we can become smart and advanced women. Then driving, it means that here we have got our freedom to move in the public and not only live our lives at home, we are also free to dress and want to wear pants like men. And then we also get justice or rights in careers or jobs.

So this world women's day must be celebrated to honor and also be grateful for the struggles that have been done by great women before which made us now get gender equality. With the efforts that have been made by women in ancient times, now we who have enjoyed the results should not waste it. We have to prove that we women are great and strong figures who can get the same rights as men.
