The impact of the pandemic on education

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed many things, starting from social, economic, and political life, one of the sectors most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic is the education sector where previously teaching and learning activities were carried out face-to-face, but during a pandemic like this, online learning (  online learning) has become an option for the ministry of education and culture as an effort to prevent the spread of the corona virus ( covid 19 )

online learning or online learning is a learning system without face to face directly between teachers and students but learning is carried out through the internet network.  The practice of online learning or online learning is carried out by various levels of education from elementary, junior high, high school, to university.

This online learning system is carried out through computer personnel devices (PCs) or laptops that are connected to the internet network, teachers can do joint learning at the same time by using groups on social media such as WhatsApp, the g meet application, zoom, or other media as media.  Thus, the teacher can ensure that students take part in learning at the same time even though they are in different places

this is a big challenge for a teacher, because in conditions like this the teacher is required to be able to process, design learning media (online media) in such a way as to achieve learning goals and to prevent student boredom in learning this model.

online learning system or online learning in its application does not always run smoothly, many obstacles arise, including an unstable internet network, and other obstacles are the limited ability of du in the field of information technology.

Besides that, there are negative and positive impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic on the world of education itself

The positve impact are as follows :
1)get material easily and learn to evaluate our own learning in our respective homes
2)can learn freely and without a certain time limit so that they can more easily understand the material presented

While the negative  impacsts themselves are as follows :

1)the number of students who abuse study time or do not use it less, while e-learning is only open to absent without reading the material or to study
2) If there is no guidance from experts, many students carry out the learning less than optimally

The national emergency carried out by the Indonesian government caused by the Corona 19 virus requires that the teaching and learning process that was previously carried out face-to-face must be transferred online and carried out in virtual school learning houses (online) starting at the elementary, junior high, high school levels.  , to college.  forced to and obliged to carry out the virtual learning process, virtual school learning was chosen as the best solution for the continuity of the educational process, each individual must interpret this pandemic condition as part of a change that still has to prioritize representative attitudes and behavior in a new order or create a varia learning space
