Nurhayati Subakat, born in 1977 in Jakarta, Indonesia, is a pioneering entrepreneur best known as the founder of Wardah, a leading halal cosmetic brand. She pursued her education in pharmacy, which instilled in her a deep understanding of skincare and beauty products. This academic background provided the foundation for her future ventures in the cosmetic industry.

In 1995, recognizing a significant gap in the market for halal cosmetics tailored for Muslim women, Nurhayati established Wardah. At the time, there were few options that aligned with Islamic principles, which prioritize purity and ethical sourcing. Her vision was clear: to create high-quality beauty products that not only met the aesthetic needs of consumers but also adhered to halal standards.

Under her leadership, Wardah quickly gained traction. It became the first Indonesian cosmetics brand to receive halal certification, a milestone that set it apart in a competitive market. This commitment to halal principles resonated deeply with consumers, leading to a loyal customer base that appreciated the brand's values of safety and integrity.

Wardah's product line expanded rapidly, encompassing skincare, makeup, and personal care items. The brand's focus on research and development allowed it to introduce innovative products that catered to diverse skin types and preferences. Additionally, Nurhayati emphasized quality control and sourced ingredients that were not only effective but also ethical.

Nurhayati's influence extends beyond product development. She has been an advocate for women's empowerment, believing that entrepreneurship can be a powerful tool for women in Indonesia. Through various initiatives, she has supported female entrepreneurs, providing them with resources and mentorship to help them thrive in their businesses.

Her contributions to the beauty industry and entrepreneurship have not gone unnoticed. Nurhayati has received numerous awards and accolades, establishing her as a prominent figure in both the cosmetics sector and the broader business community.

Today, Wardah is not just a cosmetic brand; it represents a movement that integrates modern beauty with Islamic values. The company has expanded its reach internationally, appealing to a global audience interested in halal products. Nurhayati Subakat continues to lead the brand with a commitment to innovation, quality, and ethical practices, ensuring that Wardah remains at the forefront of the beauty industry in Indonesia and beyond.
