My name is Anom Dik Jaya, and I'm in class 9C at SMPN 239, South Jakarta. This is my second article, where I'll share an unforgettable personal experience in a recount text.
Hi everyone, I'm Anom Dik Jaya, and I want to share an unforgettable experience. First, let me introduce myself. I'm someone who loves beauty, peace, and truth. Six years ago, in 2019, Indonesia was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. It was during this time that I received guidance to get closer to the right path, or rather, Allah wanted me to know Islam better. Before, I was just a typical kid who didn't know about the heirs of Prophet Muhammad SAW, etc. But in 2019, Allah SWT wanted to introduce me to all of that.
In 2019, when all schools switched to online learning, I had a lot of free time. After finishing my schoolwork, I was often bored and started scrolling through YouTube Shorts. Unexpectedly, I came across a video of Habib Rizieq Shihab giving a fiery lecture. I was amazed by his passionate words, and I started watching all his videos, gaining more knowledge. That's when I learned that he was an heir of Prophet Muhammad SAW and one of his descendants. From there, I got to know Islam more deeply and broadly. I used to not know who the Habaib were, but now I'm close to them and often gather with them.
The lesson I learned is that if it weren't for COVID-19, I might not have become a better person and a devout Muslim. Sometimes, not all disasters bring bad effects; every disaster brings a positive impact. I know this because I've experienced it myself. This is my unforgettable experience. I will always remember COVID-19 for the rest of my life.
