Did you know that some teenagers feel anxious everyday because they use their phones for more than 10 hours? it is fun and useful, it also has bad sides. The advantages of social media are seeing important news, accessing information, and communicating with people from a distance, the negative effects are also no less many, teenagers often ignore their study time, prayer, meals, and even sleep. So, although if social media is useful, it brings more bad effect for teenagers. Because of this, we need control digital education.
Dominance of social media extension of the negative impact on adolescent mental health and the dominance positive impact of social media on adolescent development. Some people argue that the trending of social media is able to bring merit for easily access everything, starting with communication even discover new information quickly. For instance, teenagers have the ability to access educational content easily and deepen their knowledge and maintain communication with distant relative. This versatility is one of the key reasons social media popular among teenagers today.
However, social media also brings several negative effects on students' learning. Many teenagers spend too much time scrolling Tiktok or Instagram, and they sometimes forget their school tasks. Instead of focusing on their lessons, they keep cheking their phones, which makes it hard to concentrate. Using phones late at night also causes them to sleep less, so they feel tired and less active in class. This shows that although social media is useful for communication, it can also disturb stuudents' study habits and lower their school performance.
On the other hand, negative impact of social media is addiction. Many teenagers constanly check and scroll through interesting content on their phones, even while in class or with family. In extreme cases, they feel bored or anxious if they don't access social media. This can create dependency and become lost in an unreal world.
In general, social media plays a significant role on the life of teenagers, especially in this era of increasingly advanced technology. Neverthless, social media facilitates indirect interaction, helps students access learning materials, and learn new information. Moreover, social media is able to have negative impacts, such as disrupting the learning process, increasing anxiety, reducing social interaction, and ultimately leading to addicition. Furthmore, we need to learn to use social media wisely and balance it with real world activities.
