On the day that marks my existence, a package wrapped in a colorful flowers paperbag with a big pink bow appears in front of my door. It bears the sweet and wonderful promise of celebration and a bunch of expectations. With a mixed feelings, I gently unwrapped the package to reveal a gift from the unknown sender. As the pink lid of the bag come off, revealing the things inside; pretty handcrafted flowers bucket that has been lovingly created.Â
The flowers bucket is being made from environmentally friendly materials. The flowers are made of woolen thread in red, blue, yellow and there are green leaves below the flowers. It has a uniquely human touch. Even though it's not neat, I still like it because it must have been made with great effort. Yes, it has a lack of precision symmetry, which show the realms of amateurism. However, this flower is the first flower gift for 20 years I live. Inside the package was a handwritten greeting card with a funny but heartwarming sentence which was then signed with the name Olga, my bestfriend.
This gift is the life-changing in our relationship. Our friendship became warmer and I became aware of my increasing age and I became more appreciative of all God's gifts; fortune, health, time, and so on. This gift also motivating me to go deeper into the depths of my own fragility and to show grace to others around me. In the end, we can celebrate the special connection that brings us together by valuing the handmade gift's imperfect beauty and the talented hands of our friend.
