The Elementary School in My VillageÂ
The school is used for formal education. A school is an institution designed for the teaching of students under the supervision of a teacher. School consists of classes, teachers, and students. In Indonesia, the school level starts in kindergarten; at this level, students spend 2 years studying. After that, students continue in elementary school for six years. Then they should spend three years in junior high school and three years again in senior high school.Â
In the Pagonan village where I live, there is a public elementary school called SD Negeri Pagonan. The Pagonan State Elementary School is not very big; it only has three buildings with two classes in each building, but the place is clean, the air is fresh, there are lots of flower plants and some trees, and it is comfortable for children to learn. The facilities are also quite complete for the size of an elementary school. The elementary school has a basketball field, and behind the school there is a government-owned field that students can use during physical education lessons, and the local community can also use it to play soccer. This state elementary school is very adequate for the learning of elementary-aged children in my village. This public elementary school was built by the government so that elementary-aged children in my village don't need to go all the way to the sub-district center to attend elementary school.
