Can The Development Of Increasingly Sophisticated Technology Benefit Humans?

          Countries around the world are shocked by the advancement of technology. All aspects of life are not spared from the intervention of increasingly sophisticated technology. I believe that technological advancements in the future are a boon for humans in terms of advancements in health, advancements in education, and increasingly sophisticated devices that make it easier for humans to carry out their daily activities. 

          To begin with, the advancement of technology in the context of health can save humanity. For example, in the past, people who contracted measles were treated by medical personnel who only relied on some traditional methods such as only recommending drinking concoctions, which could be said to be less effective in treating the disease. With the advancement in scientific technology, doctors have managed to find a measles vaccine that has been proven to avoid measles. This method has finally succeeded in making people more concerned about the health of their babies, supported by data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) report, In 2020, 67.82% of children under five years of age have received measles immunization. The data shows that vaccines, which are an example of technological development in the world of health, are quite effective in helping humanity. Moving on to the development of technology in education, in general, all students who live in this digital era feel that they are facilitated by the internet which makes students easily search for information sources that are widespread on the Internet, which makes their assignments quickly completed in a flash. This development makes students more digitally literate so that they can keep up with the relentless flow of technological developments. Those who benefit from technological advances are not only students, teachers also feel the benefits, for example, the Internet provides a variety of platforms that make it easier for students to master material, such as the use of Youtube, Google Classroom, Zoom, Quizziz, or material presentations on various tutoring websites, which can create learning methods that are more variable and not boring. This method is also very helpful during the Covid-19 period, where all parts of the world limit outdoor interactions, so students only rely on various online platforms in their learning period. 

          This is continuous with the existence of increasingly sophisticated device technology that makes it easier for humans to communicate via electronic devices. Nowadays, people are facilitated by the existence of several features installed in their mobile phones, such as Cashless payment, where when people buy an item, they no longer need to use physical money as a transaction method, but only by photographing the barcode provided by the seller. This method is very helpful for the community, especially young people who usually want to be practical in transactions, because there is no need to take cash at an ATM machine. Various kinds of applications, especially for traveling such as Gojek, Bluebird and Grab, make it easier for us to travel, the existence of a direction map feature or Google Maps also makes it easier for us not to get lost on the way.

          Some people argue that with the development of increasingly advanced technology, it can cause people to lose interest in traditional things, so that traditional habits that have been instilled since ancient times will fade. However, the application of technology that is used wisely can make things easier for humans such as ease in communicating, transacting, traveling and various other aspects. 

          In conclusion, the development of technology in general can make things easier for humans in various aspects, making things easier in the fields of education, health so that treatment is more effective and making things easier in daily human activities. Although there are concerns about the threat to traditional habits that have been ingrained in society since ancient times, overall society feels the positive side of technological developments that make things easier for them.
