Banda Aceh is a city on the tip of the island of Sumatra and the western tip of Indonesia precisely in the province of Aceh. Banda Aceh is not only known as the Veranda of Mecca. Banda Aceh has many amazing tourist attractions. Visiting Banda Aceh can also provide a different and pleasant holiday sensation.

The tsunami museum is a museum in Banda Aceh designed as a symbolic monument to the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami disaster as well as a disaster education center and emergency shelter.

The tsunami museum was designed by the architect 'Ridwan Kamil'. This museum is a four-story structure with an area of 2,500 m with curved walls covered with geometric relief. Inside, visitors enter through a narrow and dark alley between two high water walls to recreate the atmosphere and panic during the tsunami. The museum wall is decorated with pictures of Saman dancing people, a symbolic meaning for the strength, discipline, and religious beliefs of the Acehnese tribe. From above, the roof forms sea waves. The ground floor was designed like a traditional Aceh stilt house that survived the brunt of the tsunami.
