Facing the Covid-19 Pandemic

The history of human civilization has recorded that Covid-19 is a major history of life on earth that has made the whole world in an uproar and changed the entire order of life.  Covid-19 is a virus that can spread quickly and can cause death at any time.  The spread of this virus first came from Wuhan, China.  After Covid-19 first spread in Indonesia, this made the entire community panic and fearful and made various efforts to avoid the spread of the virus.  Therefore, President Joko Widodo strongly urged the public to carry out Physical Distancing or Work From Home (WFH) to break the chain of spreading Covid-19.

The tight implementation of Social Distancing and Work From Home (WFH) has had a significant impact on the lives of Indonesians.  The restrictions imposed by the government have created huge problems for the community.  The WFH and Social Distancing policies have caused many people to lose their jobs and income, due to the many employees who were laid off and production activities were dismissed due to Covid-19.  This has resulted in an economic crisis among the middle and lower classes.

The spread of this virus is a common problem that must be handled by the entire community.  However, currently, the implementation of policies to break the chain of Covid-19 spread is still reaping many pros and cons among the public due to the lack of understanding of the Indonesian people and the large number of people affected by this policy.  Therefore, it is very necessary to have a frontline figure who is able to bridge the government and the community so that the crisis that occurs due to the Covid-19 pandemic can be resolved immediately.

Students as creative successors of the nation as carriers of change and social control of society become the front guard figures who are expected to move quickly in mobilizing their abilities for the welfare of the nation and state.  The participation of students is very much needed and very influential in today's conditions, namely as a mouthpiece between the government and society, as well as government partners in implementing policies in the community.  So that, it will be easier for the public to understand and be helped by the presence of students in handling Covid-19.

The state through government will not be able to stand alone in the joints of society today.  Therefore, the presence of student participation is needed to assist the government and society in realizing and improving the order of life for the better.  The crisis that is faced due to the impact of the spread of Covid-19 is a responsibility that must be faced together and voiced in real action.  The public is also asked not to panic but to remain kind in facing hoax news about the Covid-19 news and to be wiser and more careful in reading or listening to news.
