International Tropical Medicine Summer School (ITMSS) is an annual event organized by Muhammadiyah Medical Students’ Activities (MMSA) in Faculty of Medicine and Health Science, University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY).
ITMSS is a unique summer school program combining the academic and student’s activities. The aims of the summer school are to broaden the students’ knowledge in the emerging tropical medicine diseases, able to perform physical examinations, laboratory findings, diagnose and treatments in the modified Problem Based Learning (PBL) system.
ITMSS was first held on the year 2005, as the first ever summer school held in Indonesia and is currently the leading and the biggest.
This year, 2014, it will be the 10th ITMSS and as usual, it is held at the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta around the period of 30th of June until the 16th of July 2014.
