Here comes the 3rd day. Education program still running. Same with the previous, the day is started with lecture. Now, we invite dr. Eggi Arguni, M.Sc, PhD, Sp.A to give the lecture about Dengue Haemorraghic Fever (DHF). She is lecturer from Gadjah Mada University and a practitioner in Sardjito Hospital, Yogyakarta.
In her lecture, she explains all participants about what DHF is. The main symptom of DHF is very unique, it’s fever which is the pattern like saddle for ridding horse. Why is it called saddle horse fever? Because in the first until third day, the fever will increase and in the fourth until fifth day, the fever will decrease. Then the sixth until seventh day, it will increase again. This pattern is like saddle horse. dr. Eggi also explain about new technology to prevent DHF. The new technology is using Wolbachia bacteria to reduce the number of dengue virus inside mosquito as vector of DHF, Aedes aegypti. Wolbachia can’t live in mamalia cell so it is safe if Wolbachia enters human body. But, it’s still big question how if Wolbachia is mutated and harm human. Fortunately, from the data since the first time this technology was started in 2010, this mutation is never happened.

Then, participants have to discuss DHF case in tutorial. Now, the tutor is dr. Oryzati Hilman, Msc.CMFM, PhD. and dr. Rizka. Tutorial runs for 2 hours. There is a lot of things they discuss then they found the conclusion that it is so important to give supportive treatment to the patient with DHF, such as liquid replacement therapy.

Finally, the last agenda today! We’re going to have fun on the city tour and making bakpia.
Participants are invited to Bakpia Kencana for making bakpia. First, the owner of Bakpia Kencana explains them how to make a bakpia. Then, the participants try to cover the filling of bakpia with cover layer but before it, they try to make round thin cover layer. It’s a little bit hard to make the cover layer because it have to be perfect and any kind of holes are forbidden. In the end session, the participants get fresh baked bakpia from Bakpia Kencana.

Then the participants go to the city square. Yogyakarta has 2 city square, in the north and south. We all go to the south one. After the participants arrive there, they drive car-like bike with various shape. This bike is called “Odong-odong”.
There is a myth in this southern city square. If you can pass across two big trees there, your dream will come true. The participants try to pass this tree. Some of them succeed, but the others fail. No problem, it’s just a myth anyway.
Oh, it’s 9.00 pm now! It’s time to go home and see you tomorrow.
