Since the Covid-19 Pandemic hit the world, every sector of human life has no longer run as usual. Whether it's the social, economic, cultural, tourism, even education sector. Because a pandemic knows no who and where, everyone feels the impact. Without exception. It doesn't matter on a global, national, or even personal scale. So that inevitably, we must change and improve in order to adapt to this situation.
For a student, a pandemic should not stop us from continuing to learn. Because today, age and technology bring us to the reality, where to interact we don't have to be in the same place. Face-to-face lectures can be replaced with virtual lectures, or online lectures, or whatever we call it. There is still a way. As the saying goes; when one door is closed there will be many doors that open.
As we know, online lectures make us much easier and more flexible. It is very different if previously we had to travel a distance to get to campus. Currently we only need to sit in the room, in front of the screen, listening to the teacher explain the lesson. So that the time and energy that we spend decreases, making our preparations in welcoming lectures should be more mature.
Both face-to-face and virtual, lecture is still in college, studying is still studying. There are ethics that we must uphold. Because knowledge will lose its meaning if it is not protected by ethics. Thus there are some things that we should always pay attention to;
- Self Preparation. Before lectures begin, we should have prepared ourselves. Such as choosing a good and smooth internet connection, looking for a comfortable place, or reading the lecture material that will be explained first. Even though it's only virtual, our preparation should be as maximal as face-to-face lectures.
- Dress formally and neatly. Even you study from home, don't let us wear modest clothes. We should still shower and dress neatly, or dress up, like during a face-to-face lecture. Because such clothes and formal atmosphere will affect our readiness and enthusiasm for learning.
- Turn on the the web cam. Besides being a form of respect for us as Disciples to the Teacher, lecturers also need to know that we really pay attention to what he says. So we should turn on the camera during lectures. And if there is something that makes us unable to turn on the camera, it should be submitted in writing in the chat column that has been provided.
- Say good bye and thank you. If you have arrived at the end of the lecture, or there are things that make us have to leave the meeting first, don't forget to say goodbye and say thanks. This seems simple, but meaningful. Both for the sake of courtesy, as well as to show that we value meeting with all the knowledge that we get.
These are some of the many ethics that we should not ignore. To keep the essence of studying knowledge from fading, and so that what we get for the time we spend can be maximized and blessings
Hopefully, our determination in learning will not fade away by the pandemic, and will not be finished just because of the difficulties that come and go.
