Rawa Pening (THE BEST STORY)

Once upon a time there lives a girl named Ngasem Endang Savitri in the village. Nobody knows that she had a husband, but she was pregnant. All of the villagers talking about her pregnancy, but Ngasem Endang Savitri ignore them as long they don’t disturb her. Shortly, she gave a birth. And very surprising, her child was a speaking dragon. But Ngasem Endang Savitri receive it, she named her child Baru Klinting.

Ngasem Endang Savitri loved her child so much, she take care Baru Klinting totally, she doesn’t care either her child was a dragon. When Baru Klinting teenager, he ask to his mother why he doesn’t have a father and who is his father. So, his mother explains that his father was a king named Ki Hajar which is meditating in the jungle. But he never comes back until now. After heard that, Baru Klinting ask permission from his mother to find and meet his father. With sadness Ngasem Endang Savitri let him go, but she gave Baru Klinting a bell which is estate from Ki Hajar.

And then Baru Klinting goes to jungle to finds his father. He walk around the jungle for a long time, day bay day he still walking to find his father. Then he finds a cave and comes in. He finds an old man there.

“Who are you!?” With a big warn the old man ask to Baru Klinting

“No, don’t be afraid, I’m Baru Klinting, please don’t attack me!”

“Baru Klinting? Are you Ngasem Endang Savitri’s son?”

“Yes I am, how can you know? Oh my god! Are you Ki Hajar? Are you my father?”

“No it’s impossible, you can’t be a dragon, no!”

“Yes father I’m your son, and I bring this bell to prove that.”

“Enough! You must encircle Telomoyo Mountain to prove it!”

Surprisingly Baru Klinting prove that he can encircle the mountain. Reluctantly Ki Hajar accept Baru Klinting as his son. Then Ki Hajar send Baru Klinting to meditate in the jungle if he want to be a human. Baru Klinting does what Ki Hajar said, he goes meditate in the jungle.

When Baru Klinting meditating, he be disturbed by villagers from Patok Village. The villagers hunt an animals for party. They catch Baru Klinting which is still a dragon. They kill him and cut his body into pieces. But, his Soul already leave his body. So, god grant it, Baru Klinting become a human after meditate for a long time. But his body full of scars, and he was so weak. So, he walk around to find some help and food. Then he arrived in pathok village. He asked some food to the villagers there. But, the villagers reject him, they hit Baru Klinting until he go.

"Who do you think you are!? Go away from here!"

"Please, I'm so hungry right now."

"No, go away or we'll attack you!"

"Yes, go away you disgusting!"

With disappointed Baru Klinting goes away from there, he walk around hopelessly. With scars and illness on his body he used his last energy to leave the village. But, when he almost leaves the village, he meet an old widow there. The old widow shocked watched him. How can a little boy walk alone with scars in every part of his body. So she helps Baru Klinting. She takes Baru Klinting to her house and give him some food.

"You're so kind ma'am"

"Oh it's just a food son, it's mean nothing."

"But noone here want to help me except you. They're so cruel! They drive out me and attack me when I ask some food."

"It's okay son don't be angry."

Baru Klinting ignore the old widow, he still angry and

plains to punish the villagers. When he done with his food, he excuse to the old widow. But he warn the old widow to prepare her lesung when she heard the noisy sounds of water.

"Ma'am, listen to me! You must prepare your lesung when you hear the noisy sound of water."

"Why? Whatsoever happen?"

"I can't tell you, just prepare it and save yourself."

"No! Tell me first!"

"I'll make a big flood in this village! Because the villagers was so cruel."

"What?! No, please forgive ma people, please!"

"No, I can't, they must get punishments. I'm go."

Baru Klinting goes to the village again, he comes there to make a challenge for the villagers. He stick the lidi into the ground and ask the villagers who can pull out that.

"Why are you come back here?! Don't you hear we won't give you food."

"Isn't about food. I want to make a challenge for all of you."

"Challenge? What's challenge do you mean?"

"Who can pull out this lidi from the ground, that's the winner. And I'll do what you guys said if you win."

All of the villagers try and try to pull out the lidi. The man, girl, and child, everyone trying to pull it out. But nobody's can pulled it out.

Now it's baru Klinting turn. He  pull out the lidi without a big effort. Suddenly the spraying of water out from the ground. The water was so much and washed the Pathok Village's villagers. That flood destroy the beauty Pathok Village.

"Helppp!!"

"Aaaaa~ please help me!"

But, only one person that still alive and save, that person is, the old widow which is gave some food for Baru Klinting, the one and only that kind enough to share her harta. She used her lesung when the big flood has come.

Finally, there is form a lake. Since then on the lake is called ‘Rawa Pening’. Rawa means lake in javanese and indonesian language. Pening made from ‘bening’ which means clean in indonesian language. Now the lake is located in the province of central java in indonesia.
