In order to improve services and utilization of information technology facilities for the entire academic community, School of Nursing (PSIK) Diponegoro University held a training of webmail and weblog management on Tuesday, 08.09.2011. The training was attended by a number of 25 lecturers from four departments namely the Department of Fundamental of Nursing, Department of Medical Surgical Nursing, Department of Child Health and Maternity Nursing, and Department of Mental Health and Community. The event was officially opened by Plh. Kaprodi, Agus Santoso. According to the team coordinator of PSIK website, Asih Nurakhir, this training is one form of commitment to the team of PSIK website to enhance the ability of the faculty in organizing weblog of each with domain undip.ac.id. "All the lecturers in PSIK already have a weblog and webmail, but unfortunately not all active update. Various constraints such as busyness and limitations of technical skill become a bottleneck. And training is expected to be a means to equip fellow lecturers with technical ability, "he said. Hailed as the first speaker in this training is the Chairman of Diponegoro University Website Development Team who is also an expert staff of Vice Chancellor IV for Development and Cooperation Undip, Dr. Istadi, ST,.MT. In his presentation, he examines things about competition from webometrics ranking of universities in Indonesia and internationally, including the ranking of Undip webometrics. He also presented some strategies that may be carried out by lecturers to be actively involved to increase the ranking primarily through blogging. Training continued with the technical content of how to manage the blog from the simple to more complex things which are guided by Asih Nurakhir. All participants enthusiastically participated in various directions and practice in each of their blogs even though some are very new in blogging activities. Last session is the procedure of submission of scientific papers / manuscripts to the scientific journals of PSIK FK UNDIP namely the Nurse Media Journal of Nursing (NMJN) delivered directly by the team leader Suhartini. NMJN a nursing scientific journal that is part of the e-journal developed Undip that is free access to the wider community from both within and outside the country.
