Why hijab is the most important for muslimah? Because hijab is one of the characteristics of muslimah and it’s natural for muslimah to wear hijab, hijab can protect muslimah from slander, sin, and all the bad things, according to as Allah SWT says in surah al-ahzab ayat 59. (Sulaiman & Raifu, 2020)

Wearing a hijab does not protect Muslimah from harassment. The hijab is a symbol of a Muslimah, and covering the genitals one of the obligations of a Muslimah. Only about 17% of Muslimah experience poor treatment. This indicates that wearing a hijab does not guarantee 100% protection from harassment. However, the crime rate among Muslimah is relatively low because the hijab helps preserve their dignity and honor. Therefore, it can be concluded that wearing a hijab does not exempt one from harassment and mistreatment. (Robinson, 2016)

In a social context, the hijab is a religious symbol that reflects Islamic values. Women who wear the hijab are seen as obedient to Islamic teachings. In a social context, the hijab is not just clothing, but also proof of a Muslimah obedience and faith. Hijab wearers are not only found in Islamic countries, but are spread throughout the world. For example, around 43% of one million Muslimah in America wear the hijab. The hijab also serves as an identity that symbolizes pride and confidence for women. This effort shows that social views on the hijab vary depending on the perspective of each community. (Ahmad et al., 2022)

The use of hijab has broad fungtions and values, not only from a religious perspective, but also from a health perspective. Hijab protects the skin from UV radiation, pollution, and dust that can damage the hear and scalp. The use of hijab is a form and an important part of muslimah. Therefore, the use of hijab has many positive impacts from a religious, social, and health perspective. (Sulaiman & Raifu, 2020)

Hijab is not just a piece of clothing, but a combination of religious observance, self-identity, a symbol of culture and lifestyle that can differ according to each individual’s point of view. In addition, hijab is also a form of obedience and faith in Allah that we must obey. It can protect us from slander, the views of people who are not good towards us, as well as maintaining our honor and dignity. (Sulaiman & Raifu, 2020)
