Islamic educational resource management is the process of effectively and efficiently organizing and utilizing all resources (human resources, methods, money, infrastructure, technology, and the environment) to achieve both Islamic and national educational goals. This management encompasses planning, organizing, coaching, controlling, and evaluating activities to ensure Islamic educational institutions operate in a focused, sustainable manner, and avoid damage and chaos.
The main elements of management include the 6Ms (Man, methods, materials, funds, machines, and markets), with people being the most dominant factor, as they determine the organization's success. The goal is to create competitive advantage through quality educational resources. Management principles refer to effectiveness, efficiency, division of labor, authority, discipline, unity of command and purpose, fairness, job stability, initiative, and a sense of community within the organization, all of which are flexible as needed.
Resource management in Islamic education is a crucial foundation for the sustainability of educational institutions. Management is not merely a matter of technical arrangements, but rather a systematic process for utilizing all potential to achieve educational goals effectively and efficiently. The uniqueness of Islamic educational management lies in its foundation on spiritual and moral values, as well as social and communal responsibility, which are inseparable from the mission of da'wah and community development.
Etymologically, management is defined as the efficient and effective use of resources. Educational resources include people, funds, infrastructure, information, and time, all of which support the educational process. Law Number 20 of 2003 stipulates that educational resources consist of educational personnel, the community, funds, and facilities and infrastructure. Therefore, Islamic educational management can be understood as the process of optimizing all these elements to achieve the goal of quality education with an Islamic nuance.

In practice, teachers and madrasah principals often face limited facilities, an imbalance between the number of teaching staff and students, and the demands of utilizing modern learning technology. Through good management, these obstacles can be transformed into opportunities to strengthen educational quality, enhance creativity, and build a healthy and conducive school climate.
According to Manulang, there are six main components known as the 6M: man, methods, materials, money, machines, and markets. Of these elements, people are the most important factor because the success of an educational institution depends heavily on the quality of its human resources. Disciplined, innovative, and virtuous teachers can maximize limited learning methods and facilities, thereby maintaining the spirit of education.
The primary goal of managing educational resources is to increase effectiveness and efficiency. This concept aligns with the concept of competitive advantage, which emphasizes the importance of competitive advantage. Islamic educational institutions can build excellence through the quality of their teaching staff, learning innovations, Islamic services, and a school culture that fosters emotional closeness between teachers, students, and the community.
Henry Fayol proposed 14 principles of management, including division of labor, discipline, authority, unity of direction, and esprit de corps. In the context of Islamic education, these principles are flexible and adaptable to the needs of the institution. The values of justice, efficiency, effectiveness, and Islamic morality are the foundations that must be upheld for the institution to survive and thrive.
Therefore, managing Islamic educational resources is not merely an administrative activity, but rather a sustainable strategy through planning, implementation, control, and evaluation. The goal is to realize superior, efficient, and Islamic education that can make a real contribution to building a knowledgeable society and a civilization with character.
