One day, I hear one of my lecturer said: Arabic Muslims are agresive and like to ignite wars, we must be a member of Islam Nusantara. I feel that this is a humiliation to our predecessor. For example, Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam, his companions, and tabi'in which is clearly Arabics. I don't know why my lecturer said that. But I want to analyze why people said Arabic Muslims are agresive? Ok, let me search for the truth. And I will answer my lecturer's opinion based on historical facts.
I will answer, why Arabic Muslims invaded Byzantine and Persian's territories. According Tamim Ansary, they do it because Byzantine empire send some troops to Arabic Peninsula and intend to invade the land of Arab. The Byzantine saw that the Arabians is weak, because Rasulullah Shallahu alaihi wasallam has die and the condition of Arabic Peninsula is chaotic because the War of Murtad (Riddah).
As for Persian, they tried to send some provocateurs to destroy the Islamic community which is still young. And in my opinion, Persian and Byzantine empire is ancient imperialist. It's the same with Portuguese who tried to colonize the land of Sunda in 16th century with pitted beetwen King Of Sunda, Prabu Surawisesa (in Sundanese poem called Mundinglaya Kusumah) and his nephew, Shaikh Sharif Hidayatullah that was a ruler of Cirebon sultanate.
And in my opinion, Byzantine and Persian Empire are the invaders who harmed Arabic Peninsula. If my lecturer said the Arabic Muslim is agresive, why he doesn't said the same to Demak sultanate who attacked  Portuguese in Malacca two times? Why he's just focused to discredited the Arabic Muslim? It is same, Demak sultanate attacked Portuguese in Malacca because Portuguese is invaders. And Portuguse harmed the Nusantara archipelago, and Arabic Muslim attacked the Byzantine empire in 636 M,  at Battle of Yarmuk and Sassanid Persian empire in 638,  at Battle of Qadisiyya because they harmed the Arabic Peninsula.
In short, we must see the history based on data and facts. Don't saw history by our opinion without data and facts. Anyway, history is knowledge for mapping the past. And from the past, we can take some lessons.
