Sumberpasir Village, 18/06/2022 (Teras Baca Sumberpasir Village) – One of the cultures that has become the identity of the village community is service work. Service work is an activity or work done together to achieve a common goal. Service work is one of the manifestations of the value of gotong royong embodied in the ideology of the Indonesian nation, namely Pancasila. Reporting from the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, gotong royong comes from the word "gotong" which means to carry or lift and the word "royong" which means together. So that gotong royong means to carrying together and voluntary work together can be interpreted to do work together as a form of service work.
This activity is usually carried out by the local community together, with the aim of carrying out certain activities, one of which is to build infrastructure or clean up the surrounding environment which is carried out in gotong royong. In Sumberpasir Village in particular, work service is still often carried out even though its implementation is not routinely every week or every month, such as building road rebates, cleaning roads or the surrounding environment, cleaning irrigation canals and other activities.
