Thematic Real Work Lecture is one of the programs from Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka which is held by Nadiem Makarim always the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of Indonesia.Â
This program is offered by the Prof. Muhammadiyah University English Education Study Program. Dr. HAMKA (UHAMKA) by giving full freedom to students to be creative in the community outside the campus, which directly identifies the potential that exists in the community.
Setu Babakan is a place for the preservation and development of Betawi culture which is also used as a tourist spot set by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through 3 Governors, namely Sutiyoso, Joko Widodo, and Anies Baswedan. The village, which is located south of Jakarta, has 4 zones, namely the Embryo Zone, Zone A, Zone B, and Zone C.
KKNT students with the Muhammadiyah University English Education Study Program, Prof. Dr. HAMKA have the goal of pioneering a British village in Setu Babakan.Â
The students who participated in this program consisted of 5 students, namely Elsa Fadhila, M. Dhion Fardhansyah, M. Zakki Mubaroq, Nur Ifana, and Rakha Dwi Nurtantyo.
The program held consists of 5 Programs, namely:
1. Fun Course
It is an English teaching activity for elementary school children in the Setu Babakan environment, which has the aim of improving children's ability to speak English.
2. English for Guiding
It is an English teaching activity for Tour guides in Setu Babakan, which aims to improve English language skills, especially speaking.
3. Compulsory Recitation
Is an activity that aims to improve the ability of children to memorize short letters in the Al-Qur'an.
4. General Talkshow
This is an activity created by KKNT students to help improve the quality of video content on the UPK PBB Setu Babakan YouTube channel.
5. English Training
It is an activity that has the aim of improving the quality of English which has a target for Youth Organizations in the Setu Babakan area.
We KKNT students carry out this MBKM program starting from October 4, 2021, to January 31, 2022. In realizing the goal of pioneering the English Village in the Setu Babakan Betawi Cultural Village, it is indeed not instant, therefore this activity is an ongoing activity.Â
This program will be continued by our juniors who will continue this activity in order to create an English Village in the Setu Babakan Betawi Cultural Village.
