I remembered during my class in some university in suburban area of London as I attended a topic about terrorism. The Lecturer asked, What is the purpose of terrorism?"one student answered the question," to kill innocent.",
The Professor responded," wrong, death is only false product of terrorism act."
what about show of force and spreading hatred?" said another student.
"not really, terrorist never have planned to target innocent nor the weak." said the Professor
"What about to cause terror?", as I replied.
Then the Professor complemented my replied by saying," actually, the purpose of terrorism is quite simple, it's to create terror and fear. Fear that undermines faith in the establishment. It weakens the enemy from within, causing unrest in the masses."
The discussion as mentioned above, can be concluded that terrorism is not an expression of anger nor hatred but rather to political tool to weaken the rival from within, to create fear that unrest the society and destroy the faith to certain political system/party.
In Aceh, this terrorism acts seems have succeeded to create fear among the society. Murder, abduction, violence and brutal shooting in some political party's posts, showed how danger is to be an legislature candidate in Aceh. And I believe, this actions can only be proceeded by a very powerful group that have unlimited access to the local government and maybe spreading its influences to the local police, that's why the Police investigation and disclosure of terrorism cases in Aceh seems quite slow.
Indeed, we hope and always keep faith on the local police to solve those cases and revealed the truly mastermind behind these terrorism acts and not just captured the puppets..
