It seems not easy to have a complete healthy mind, body, and soul in unhealthy environment as today. We work and study hard every day, but the result might not as good as we expect. It's really exhausting and draining our mentality. Expert say that the global condition is indeed not in good state now. Competition among countries become tighter and harder from time to time. This certainly might also trigger stress in many people.Â
In Indonesia, we also face multi complex problems: from the increasing number of unemployment, corruption, political power abuse, to unfair economic system. People already work hard day by day, but most of their income is not enough to live properly. Of course, we are then told not to give up easily. Thus, some people try to do business to draw extra money. Some of them succeed, while others seem just so-so.Â
Living in simple life could be one alternative in dealing with such situation. I know, the word of 'simple' might sound different from person to person. For instance, having a motorbike might sound simple, but it's actually a "high class" to others. As for me, I prefer using public bus or LRT. I'm just grateful not working as employee so that no need to hurry to get somewhere. I notice, more people also like using public bus or LRT nowadays, especially in Jakarta. Maybe it's a kind of good thing, also could be a good example of staying simple and humble.
Even though I'm not a doctor or an expert in healthcare, I think we need to do exercise, workout, or sport every day. No need to be the expensive one like joining a fitness club, but simply by doing exercise at home. Doing exercise might not only make our body healthy, but many sources say it could bring peace and relax to our mind too. How about healthy soul? Well, we can also do yoga or meditation at home to reach that goal.Â
In my neighborhood, some people do jogging, cycling, or fun walking every morning. I think it's a wonderful idea of having a simple workout. All we need is just good shoes. While myself, I do exercise at home. I do fun walking too every day...plus, I also do weight lifting twice a day. I have some dumbbells. I just want to stay fit, not interested to be a bodybuilder. I learn about weight lifting from internet. Simple and cheap.Â
In addition, of course we better to avoid smoking, vaping, alcoholic drinks, drugs, and eat only natural healthy food. Choose mineral water as a drink, rather than sweet beverages like soda or sweetened tea. Eat more steamed or boiled food and eat less the fried ones. To make our healthy life effort complete, I think we also need to have good hobbies. Once again, it doesn't have to be luxurious. Reading book or writing blog is well known as example of good and healthy hobbies. That's all for now. Let's have a healthy lifestyle, guys.Â
