Abstract
 This article discusses the rights and obligations of Indonesian citizens in the digital era, especially regarding freedom of speech through social media.On the one hand, digital space provides freedom for people to express their aspirations or criticisms.However, on the other hand, this freedom raises challenges such as the spread of hoaxes, hate speech, and misuse of information.The state has an important role in guaranteeing people's freedom in the digital era.This article emphasizes the importance of a balance between rights and obligations, as well as the need for shared awareness between citizens and the state to maintain a healthy and responsible digital democracy in Indonesia, and also discusses how the rights and obligations of citizens in the digital era should run in balance.Through this study, it is concluded that the balance between freedom and responsibility is the key to building a healthy and fair digital democracy in Indonesia.
