Cardiovascular is a disease which caused by blood vessel disruption, this disesase is not an infectious disease, and also known as Silent Killer. This disease was the number one killer on the world. Meanwhile, in Indonesia, by the data of Health Department (2013), 2650.340 people suffering from this disease. This disease includes, heart attack, stroke, or asteroklerosis.  Instantaneous society lifestyle nowadays, leads society to disobey  the nutrient contained of the foods they consumed. The increase of bad cholesterol by the consumption of high cholesterol contained foods such as seafoods, chicken meat, pork, and many others, seems to be unavoidable. This habit leads to cardiovascular disease.
From this problem, team from Animal Husbandry Faculty of Brawijaya University which leads by Ilham Ardiansyah (2014), and the members Rofian Henis M. (2014), Syaiful Haq B. (2014) and Intan Giantana (2015) develop the innovation of functional meat in Thought For Food Competition 2017, Netherland. The product developed was MEATamorfose. MEATamorfose was chicken meat which free from antibiotics, halal, go organic, and enriched by higher omega 3 and carotene.Â
As we know, omega 3 and carotene was functional substances which can decrease the risk of cardiovascular. This product have been registered in HKI in LPPM University of Brawijaya to be patented. Meanwhile in social-economic aspect, MEATamorfose cooperated with the local farmers to provide chicken meat with high carotene and omega 3 contained. For the farmers, by produce this semi organic meat, their profit will be higher because the price of the product also more expensive.
