Bangalore, India- In mid-August 2025, I embarked on a journey that was more than just a trip; it was a pilgrimage of the heart. My destination was Bangalore, a city in India often called "The Garden City," to meet my beloved. Although my time there was brief, every moment felt precious and full of sweet surprises.
A Warm Welcome at the Airport
My first impression of Bangalore began before I even set foot in the city. The Kempegowda International Airport was truly magnificent. Its architecture was modern, clean, and captivating. The atmosphere was calm, a far cry from the chaos I had imagined, and it made me feel instantly at ease. The airport wasn't just a gateway to the city; it was a warm welcome that showed how quickly this city is growing.
Unforgettable Moments: Food, Dance, and Warmth
My first few days in Bangalore were filled with endless culinary exploration. Trying authentic Indian dosa, idli, and various curries was an unforgettable experience. Every bite was a flavor adventure, blending complex spices into a perfect harmony.
The most memorable moment, however, was a scene from my beloved's apartment. From the balcony, I could see teenage girls practicing a dance with great passion. They were preparing for the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. Although I was very sad that I had to leave before the festival began, seeing their enthusiasm was enough to feel how important and vibrant this celebration is. Their graceful movements and the smiles on their faces showed a pure happiness that spread to everyone in the apartment.
A Clean Community and Unexpected Surprises
Bangalore in the morning is a completely different world. Before the sun gets too high, the air is still cool and fresh. My beloved and I often took light morning walks around the apartment complex. The streets were still quiet from the traffic, and we could get a clearer look at the residents' morning routines.
What was interesting was how clean and well-maintained the apartment complex was. While I was there, I didn't see any litter at all. The gardens were neatly arranged, and the most charming sight was seeing hundreds of pigeons living peacefully alongside the residents. They flew and walked around calmly, as if they were an inseparable part of the community.
One morning, during our stroll, we met a little girl who approached us with a shy smile. In her hand, she held two sparkling pink and yellow gem stickers. "One for Aunty, and one for Uncle!" she said cheerfully, and before we knew it, she had gently placed a sticker on the back of each of our hands. Her simple and sincere gesture truly touched our hearts.
I felt incredibly at home there. As we sat in the apartment garden, I joked to my beloved, "If I just lived here for a month, I think I'd get to know everyone in this neighborhood." He just laughed at my comment. The friendliness of the people made me feel comfortable, as if I had been part of the community for a long time.
Another thing that came as a bit of a shock was taking a taxi. The driver sped along at a pace that made my heart race! The roads in Bangalore are indeed busy, and the driving is quite aggressive. It took some time to get used to it, and I was certainly grateful to arrive at my destination safely.
Later, during an afternoon walk, a group of boys were excitedly talking about a monkey. I asked my beloved if it was true, and he laughed, assuring me they were just joking. To my surprise, they weren't! Shortly after, a large monkey actually appeared, casually roaming around the apartment complex. It was an unexpected wildlife encounter that added another layer of charm to the neighborhood.
A Bittersweet Farewell and a Hopeful Return
Time passed so quickly that it was soon time for me to go back. At airport immigration, the officer there asked, "Why such a short stay?" I smiled and answered, "I'll be back again someday." In my heart, I promised to return with a much happier heart and more stories to tell.
I ended my trip to Bangalore by sipping a hot cup of tea at the airport, lost in thought. The trip was too short, but it left behind such deep memories. The city may have busy roads and a unique driving style, but the kindness of its people, the charming little surprises, and the love I felt there made me fall in love with it. Bangalore is not just a beautiful place; it's a city filled with friendly faces and a vibrant spirit.
