Rahman, an Orthopedic Specialist and Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, with a subspecialty in pain intervention, has captured the attention of the global medical community by introducing the world’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the management of pelvic muscle pain, specifically Piriformis Syndrome..

The AI innovation developed by Dr. Alif is a system specifically designed to analyze, diagnose, and recommend interventional management for patients with Piriformis Syndrome – a condition often overlooked but significantly impacting quality of life. The syndrome causes sharp or radiating pain in the buttocks and legs, mimicking sciatic nerve pain, but originating from pressure or tension on the piriformis muscle.
This technology not only operates based on patient input data but also has the ability to learn and adjust its treatment approach based on clinical evaluations, radiological data, and patient therapy responses. As a result, the solutions offered are increasingly personalized, effective, and efficient.
This project was developed through a collaborative effort between the Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (FK UPI) and Artikular Klinik, a medical service center focused on pain management and regenerative therapy using technology-based approaches.
