Jakarta - It’s really an embarassing question for an expecting couple. But during pregnancy, your sex life can be affected. There are myths surrounding questions about sex in pregnancy, and this time i will try to give you a brief knowledge about sex in the different stages of pregnancy.
The First Trimester
Well..for some women its pretty hard to keep her sex life on fire during the first trimester of pregnancy. just thinking about sex can make them more nauseous than ever. Many women just feel so tired hormonally that intimate relationship don’t even come into thought. Your partner should not push you into doing it, let alone deed.
Some women feel that there are physical changes at this stage. Breast become larger and feel so tender that a simple touch might feel agonizing. A heightened sense of smell makes it difficult for some women to be physically close to their partner.
If you do feel uncomfortable about sex, just be honest. A good partner will understand and won’t be offended.
A history of miscarriage, might make you worried about having sex in the first trimester. Consult it to your doctor before taking action. No matter how pleasurable it is, dont put your baby at risk.
The Second Trimester
At this time, normally you have more energy, because you already have got over your sickness and less anxious about your pregnancy gonna going wrong. At this stage, sex can be fun because :
·No contraception needed,
·Give you emotional closeness with your partner, makes you relaxed and have a better sleep..
·More blood flow in your pelvic region will increase arousal, makes your orgasm bigger and faster.
·Also it helps to exercised your pelvic muscle floor.
·Your body is change, your breast is bigger, your skin become soft. You’ll feel more attractive than before.
While it’s good for women to experiencing sex, some men might feel the opposite than what you expecting. Your partner might be frightened that having sex could hurt your baby. And there is a change of perspective about you. While pregnant you might appear as a motherly being and as a male, there are instincts to protect, not to ravish you. For you and your partner, there are a lot of emotionally changes that can affect your love life. Don’t worry and try to communicate it with your partner.
The Third Trimester
It’s getting trickier to have sex at this time. Your baby bump become major aspect that chalenge your creativity to have sex. Do experiments with your partner and try to combine sense of humour, patience and a lot of pillows and bolsters.
At this time, your partner semen contains prostaglandin that could soften your cervix while orgasm release oxytocin that contract your womb.
There are some conditions that make having sex during this time is forbidden. Leaking of amnionic fluid and placenta previa increase the risk of infections and bleeding during this time.
Conclusions : having sex during pregnancy is a good things. Certain conditions might contraindicate you to have sex, so consult it first with your doctor. Don’t be embarassed to ask questions around your sex life to your doctor.
