The Object of Epistemology
 One of the most important parts of science is the study of epistemology regarding the existence of a science. Etymologically, the term epistemology comes from the Greek word episteme meaning knowledge, and logos means theory. Epistemology can be defined as a branch of philosophy that studies the origin or source, structure, method and validity of knowledge. The study of epistemology is concerned with questions about knowledge so it is often called the theory of knowledge.
  Streams in Epistemology
1. Rationalism
Rationalism is understanding which says that reason is a search and gauge of knowledge. Knowledge is sought with reason, its findings are measured with reason too. Wanted with reason is sought by logical thinking.
2. Empirism
Empiricism is a philosophy which teaches that what is true is logical and there is empirical evidence. An empiricist is usually opinionated, we can gain knowledge through experience. Knowledge is gained through sensing
3. Positivism
Positivism is teaching that truth is logical, there is empirical evidence, which is measurable. This "measurable" is an important contribution of positivism. the only valid knowledge, and facts alone can be objects of knowledge.
4. Criticism
Criticism is the refusal to understand the copy which involves application and knowledge based on reasons.
