“This debate will not blame among governor candidates so public can know whole profile picture of their chosen”
October 3, 2015 Komisi Pemilihan Umum Daerah (KPUD) Jambi organized public debate to two candidates for Jambi governor. The debate was made to fulfill public interesting about the profile of their each candidate for new Jambi Governor 2016/2020.
Hasan Basri Agus (HBA) and Zumi Zola are both candidates for the next Jambi Governor. HBA is Jambi Governor and Zumi Zola is the ex-regent of Tanjung Jabung. They wore same black suit when they did debating last saturday night. They did shake hand when they meet in the building.
Good governance, repressive bureaucracy, and fair law enforcement were themes in the first debate session of candidates for Jambi governor. This debate was held in Ratu convention Center. This hotel is located in Jelutung, Kota Jambi, Jambi.
Antaranews.com reports that Chairman of the KPUD Jambi, M Subhan said: “We hope this debate will not blame among governor candidates but let public can know whole profile picture of their chosen. This debate should be more substantive and introduced the vision and mission of each candidate. Because of it, people will be more critical to give their vote”
He also stated, this debate was one of way for the public to recognize the vision and mission of each candidate. Beside it, doing debate also could be one of way for the each candidate to introduce their program then caught the attention of the public to vote for them. In this case, this also helped the citizen to become part of future planning in five years later.
The supporter was really crowed in outside and inside of the debate. In order to avoid conflict among supporter from the different side, Jambi Police Chief came to the location directly to keep the debate run as what had been planned before.
“For the security of this debate, we ask 450 personnel police to keep this debate runs well" said Jambi Police Chief.
The debate ran well even though the supporters kept singing their own “yel-yel” to support their each candidate. Both of the candidates for Jambi Governor did their debate as what the moderator asked to do.
