Technology is getting more and more sophisticated every day, that's what happened to our world. Humans are always surprised by new technological discoveries every day and we can't be separated from the development of technology. One of the most developed technologies are gadgets. Many companies are releasing new gadgets that are increasingly sophisticated. This technological development will certainly affect our lives, one of which is education. Especially during this pandemic, all teaching and learning activities are carried out online using gadget aids.
One of the movies that tells about technological developments related to education is 2001: A Space Odyssey which is a movie by Stanley Kubrick released in 1968. This movie tells about the reality of the use of technology starting from computer devices such as tablets, artificial intelligence (AI) technology such as Siri, and video call features like Skype which of course we have been using nowadays.
The discovery of gadgets such as tablets certainly really helped students learn more easily. We can access various information on the internet via tablets. There are also many learning applications that we can open on tablets such as Google, Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, and many more. Some schools also provide tablets in their classes, so that students can explore more about the material provided by their teachers. This shows the importance of tablets for students.
Appearances such as video calls have also been shown in this movie, which is now also used by all students, especially during a pandemic. Students from kindergarten, elementary, junior high school, senior high school, even college students also use this video call feature. Video calls can be made anywhere and anytime. Along with technological developments, many video call applications have been created to make it easier for students to learn. Applications such as Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Skype have been widely used by students. Video calls facilitate interaction between teachers and students in providing material even though we are in different places.
