Is Foreign Language Important in the Modern Era?

The era of globalization is an era in which advances in science, technology and means of transportation encourage human life to be without boundaries. Be it geographic or cultural boundaries. Education in Indonesia can develop well if students have extensive knowledge, this is realized by the government by providing scholarship programs abroad and student exchanges. 

Likewise in the economic field, the existence of a free market demands that we maintain the quality of good human resources in order to produce products and labor that are able to compete internationally. In the Indonesian medical world, many adopt knowledge about medicine and health equipment from abroad. To do this, good foreign language skills are needed so that the information taken is not wrong. If we are not able to do this, we can be sure that the medical world in Indonesia will be far behind compared to other countries. Of all these problems, foreign language skills are the solution.

Why is that? The ability to speak foreign languages allows us to understand what situations the world is facing. So that we can take anticipatory steps to face the same thing. Without realizing it, the ability to speak foreign languages also makes it easier for someone to get access to scholarships abroad, so that someone can make international friends and exchange ideas and of course this can make someone have an open mind or perspective.

In the medical world, learning foreign languages also has a positive impact, namely increasing the effectiveness of brain performance. Because language is a good form of brain stimulus. This will make people who speak more than one language (bilingual) focus more on doing tasks. They are said to be even easier to find fault with information that is not continuous. 

Foreign language skills are also not much different when applied to economic problems and the medical world. All aspects can develop when information exchange occurs and we are able to understand it. Learning various languages makes our horizons broader. The best time to learn a foreign language is at the age of 0-3 years. However, the optimal time to learn a foreign language is quite long, that is, until adolescence.
