Madiun, 3 June 2025 - The Mayor of Madiun, Dr. Maidi, officially launched the "Gunung Buah" program at the Winongo Final Disposal Site (TPA) on Tuesday (3/6). The Program aims to turn the 20-meter-high  pile of garbage at Winongo TPA into a green area that is productive and attractive to the community and tourists.
Through this program, pile of garbage will be dumped and planted with various types of fruit trees. This step is expected to create a green open area while supporting tourism development and environmental conservation in Madiun CIty.
According to the head of Winongo Landfill Waste Management, Affandi, the transformation of Winongo Landfill into a tourist spot comes from the mayor of Madiuns's idea to build a city with the concept of urban leisure. As a result, Madiun residents no longer need to leave the city to enjoy the natural atmosphere.
Along with the change in the function of the final disposal sire, the daily waste that was location will now be directly processed at the Waste Processing Site (TPS) with an incineation system will be provided with a total of 9 machine. This is done to ensure that Winongo Landfil is strike is sterile from waste.
Affandi hopes that the waste problem in Madiun city can be resolved up to 100%. Because the waste will be burned until it becomes  residual ash. So, the ash can provide benefit for Winongo landfill itself as a soil fill material.
