Padang Baru residents are anxious after the PAMSIMAS water stopped on Saturday (22/2), due to heavy rain.
PAMSIMAS (Penyediaan Air Minum dan Sanitasi Berbasis Masyarakat) is a program by the government that aims to create a clean and healthy society by improving access to sustainable drinking water and sanitation.
Complaints about the PAMSIMAS water supply stopping occur because some residents use this water as their primary water source.
"This happens often because of high rainfall, which causes landslides around the PAMSIMAS water source, blocking the water channels," explained Mr. Herman, head of KPSPAMS Padang Baru.
Mr. Herman explained that the administrators had fixed this problem the next day. "We went up to repair it, but it will take some time for the water to become clear again and usable,"he said.
