English in Indonesia is rarely used in social interactions in society, so English is difficult to learn because English is a foreign language that is not used in the daily life of Indonesian people. era. It really determines how we can interact globally. The current issue of globalization demands qualified human resources and is able to communicate in various foreign languages, especially English as an international language. These foreign language skills are needed in mastering science, having broad social interactions and a better career.

This makes everyone from various social positions motivated to master English both spoken and written. The tendency of people to master foreign languages makes them compete with each other, including placing their children in learning English as one of the skills that must be developed. This is based on the assumption of Santrock (2007)7 that children learn foreign languages faster than adults. A study by Johnson and Newport (1991)8 showed that immigrants from China and Korea who began living in America at the age of 3 to 7 years had better English skills than older children or adults.

CONCLUSION

According to Hammerby (1982), English language learning and education is based on the idea that learning a second language is better if it is started early.

Apart from the psychology of the child's language skills, the age of the child, the teacher's education and the methods used, for parents, the most important thing is to send their children to English and international licensed schools so that parents will be satisfied and believe in the education.

Mustafa (2007)6 states that a second language is the language that children learn after their mother tongue with the characteristics of the language used in society.
