The current phenomenon is the increasingly complex needs of schools in managing student data, ranging from new student registration, attendance, extracurricular activities, to alumni management, which if done manually often causes problems of delays, irregularities, and even loss of data. The assumption is that if schools are able to integrate human resources with information technology through a structured system, then student services can run more orderly, efficiently, and support the achievement of educational goals. However, the gap that is still visible in the field is that not all schools have utilised information systems optimally, so administration is often still conventional, reports are time-consuming, communication with parents is less effective, and decision-making is not always based on accurate data. Therefore, the purpose of writing this article is to explain the importance of implementing Student Management Information System (SIMKES) as a solution to the digital transformation of education to improve transparency, accountability, and quality of school services in the modern era.

A. Management Concept of Student Information System Student Information Management System (SIMKES) is an integration of human resources and information technology to manage student data thoroughly. Starting from the registration process, coaching, to becoming alumni, SIMKES is there to ensure every step is neatly recorded and well-documented.This concept aims to support decision-making, improve efficiency, and facilitate student development. More than that, this management serves to organise all learner activities to run orderly, effectively, and support the achievement of educational goals. The principles of SIMKES are adherence to rules, integration of school management, and optimal development of students' potential and independence.

B. Scope and Tasks in Student Management Information System The scope of SIMKES covers various important aspects of education. Starting from planning, new student enrolment (PSB), class division, to recording grade promotion, graduation, and alumni management. In addition, SIMKES also covers academic and non-academic coaching, supervision of student council activities, and extracurricular assistance. The main task of student management is to ensure that all activities are organised and documented. Student administration is supported by official documents such as parent books, achievement records, attendance lists, and mutation records. With an integrated system, student services can be provided optimally so that the education process is transparent, accountable, and sustainable.

C. Utilisation and Outcomes of Information Systems in Student Management The utilisation of information technology in SIMKES has a significant impact on the quality of education services. The system is able to store, process and present student data quickly and accurately. Thus, schools can more easily analyse student progress, compile reports for the education office, and manage supporting services such as the library. In addition, SIMKES also strengthens communication between schools, students and parents. The presence of the student portal allows parents to monitor their children's progress transparently. The expected results of SIMKES implementation are time efficiency, improved quality of education services, and support for more precise and strategic decision-making.

D. Student Management Information System Development Model As technology develops, SIMKES continues to be developed into an increasingly integrated system. The initial stage started with the implementation of computer or web-based PSB, followed by automatic data processing and multiuser integration. Subsequently, the system was expanded to include school administration, academics, staffing, finance, library, and even internet-based communication services and SMS Gateway. This development model ensures that student data is securely stored, easily accessible and can be used to improve the quality of education services. With comprehensive integration, SIMKES becomes a strategic information centre that helps schools compete in the digital era while improving the quality of education governance.

The implementation of SIMKES is a real step towards the digital transformation of education. With a transparent, accountable and efficient system, schools are able to provide the best services for students, establish better communication with parents, while supporting data-driven education policies in the modern era.
