An Unforgettable Paskibra Competition

Orientation

On October 19th, 2022, I joined a Paskibra competition that was held at Bumi Perkemahan Cimandala. It was one of the most unforgettable moments in my school life. My team and I had been preparing for weeks, practicing almost every day after class. We were both nervous and excited because it was our first time competing outside of school. The night before the competition, I could barely sleep since I kept thinking about how the day would go.

Events

Early in the morning, we gathered at school, wearing our uniforms neatly and bringing all the equipment we needed. The weather was cool and a bit cloudy, which made the atmosphere feel calm but tense at the same time. When we arrived at Bumi Perkemahan Cimandala, the place was already full of other teams. The sound of commands, marching steps, and drum beats echoed everywhere---it was both thrilling and intimidating.

First, we prepared our formation and checked our positions. Then, the competition began. I could feel my heart beating so fast when our team's name was called. We walked confidently to the field, trying to stay focused. Every movement, every command had to be perfect. There was a moment when I almost lost focus because of the heat and nervousness, but I reminded myself to stay calm. After that, everything went smoothly. Our synchronization was good, and the cheers from our friends gave us more spirit.

After finishing our performance, we waited anxiously for the results. We talked, laughed, and shared snacks to calm ourselves down. When the announcement came, we didn't win first place, but we were still proud because we gave our best effort. Some of us even cried, not because we were sad, but because it felt emotional to see how far we had come together as a team.

Re-orientation

That day taught me so much about teamwork, discipline, and courage. Even though we didn't bring home the trophy, I learned that effort and unity are more valuable than winning. I will never forget the moment we stood together on that field, under the bright sun, doing our best as one team. It was truly an experience that made me proud to be part of Paskibra and showed me the meaning of never giving up.
