The dynamics of the Indonesian economy are currently volatile, especially in the e-commerce sector. TikTok and its parent company ByteDance have agreed to a cooperation agreement with e-commerce from Indonesia, namely G. This agreement restores the TikTok Shop platform which was previously closed. An action that is very on point and has the potential to dominate the e-commerce market in Indonesia. This is a very strategic step considering that Indonesia is expected to become the fourth largest market in Asia Pacific. This agreement was conveyed by Pak Teten after agreeing to the conditions from the government which stated that social media was a forum for exploration.
Furthermore, the government also supports the entry of TikTok Shop to collaborate with local e-commerce. Apart from TikTok Shop being liked by users because of its innovative marketing system and competitive prices, the government also considers that this agreement will create a competitive but good and friendly trading atmosphere between marketplaces regarding service quality.
