Movie Review "Kim Ji-Young, Born 1982"

"Kim Ji-young, Born 1982" was a movie produced by Mo Il-Young, Kwak Hee-Jin, Park Ji-Young and directed by Kim Do-Young. The main character in the movie was played by Jung Yu-mi as Kim Ji-young and Gong Yoo as Jung Dae-hyun, Kim Ji-young's husband. 

This movie based on a novel written by Cho Nam-ju with the same title. This novel was opposed in its 2016 release year, but finally successfully appointed to a movie. This novel has even penetrated to number 1 million of prints in November 2018 and already translated into 16 countries.

"Kim Ji-young, Born 1982" released on October 23, 2019. The writing style of the movie cannot be doubted because it is neatly arranged and every storyline was easy to comprehend. 

Based on Allkpop.com, this movie has reached the box office with a total of 3 million viewers on November 9, 2019, and became big sixteenth of movies with the most viewers in 2019.

The genre of the movie is drama and psychological. Although this movie contains elements of feminism, this film is very mild to watch because of the storyline portrayed in everyday life in our real life.

This movie tells about a woman named Kim Ji-young who lived in a big city then left her career life and being a housewife. She became lost her identity because of her busy life as a housewife. 

Kim Ji-young started to show boredom and tiredness as a wife, mother, and daughter-in-law who must be perfect in everything. This makes her feel lost and has a psychological disorder, she also started talking like her mother and other people without realizing it. 

Her mother, Mi-sook, was a mother who is always privileging her son who is Kim Ji-young's brother, rather than her daughters. It also becomes another problem that raised psychological disorder on Kim Ji-young. 

Her mother-in-law represented as a mother-in-law who was a specter of a woman who will be married. She indirectly demanded Kim Ji-young to do everything are perfect and this makes her stressed and burdened.

"Kim Ji-young, Born 1982" also showed some flashback scene when Kim Ji-young still worked in the past, when her team leader who is a woman, got discrimination and she could defenses herself with her strong character and it makes her be "ideal female" figures of Kim Ji-young's.
